      Difficult to Advance on Merit Alone - Support Group

      Pros

      Stable workforce, reasonable pay and benefits.

      Cons

      Raises and bonuses tend to be awarded based on maximum group limits which severely undervalues higher performing units. There is a pool of money per group, so if you are in a talented group that all deserve higher percentage of bonus it won't matter. You will get the same percentage as an average performer in an under-performing group. Promotions tend to be based on seniority and favoritism over talent.

      Pros

      The company offers flexible work schedules and opportunities for telecommuting. The internal systems and processes for managing your career, benefits, pay, etc. are top notch.

      Cons

      Depending on the role, it can be a major challenge to have work-life balance. It is odd that internal HR Business Partners report to Business Unit Leaders. How can an HRBP provide direct and balanced counsel to the business if the leader is their boss? Seems like a conflict of interest...

      Pros

      The training subsidy is great! Although, it will end before you start making any commissions.

      Cons

      Too many to list: Terrible upper management, no strategy for new hires, they lied about the opportunity, training and their expectations. They are extremely numbers driven, but provide no tools or support to accomplish unrealistic goals.
