Pros

Hybrid mode- they hire good people before they run them into the ground.

Cons

So, I didn’t join ADP right out of college, but it is really good for those kids… I guess. Let’s get right down to it: ADP sucks, in regards to SBS. They hire about 50-70 worker bees to just cold call out their butt. Each month you only close 1-3 units because there are so many people selling. The market is extremely saturated, the management don’t give a crap about you UNLESS you are hitting the numbers. You are nothing to them but just a number. Don’t ever forget that, because they won’t. You are micromanaged AND they expect you to dress in dress clothes to slang payroll- for a below minimum wage base salary, with the understanding your commission would make up the difference. Everyone’s first year is about $120k in sales which you get about 7.5% of that giving you about $9,000/year in commission(garbage). That’s about $750/month and after taxes in most states is about $400. Don’t forget you’re already underpaid in base pay. Save yourself the misery and work for paycor or even paychex. ADP does NOT care about you.

Pros

Co-workers were fantastic and try their best to support you when you have issues. I was fortunate to have a great manager, but all are not great.

Cons

The role can be misleading. You are glorified (by title) client support; that is all you will have time to be. Imagine having one-and-done calls and also having a client base you must support. This base continues to grow as more people leave and/or get promoted. Based on client levels of complexity and what sales/implementation has done with the client it becomes your problem if the problems are not addressed early in the process. You do the job of several departments and often other departments you partner with do not follow through stressing your relationships with the client and ultimately affecting your service scores. You can have a background in payroll and know what you're doing and even that will not prepare you for the account manager model used. You are not an Account Manager. The only functions you perform that an actual Account Manager performs are Client Support (80-90%) and Client Relationship Management (10-20%). You can ChatGPT the role and the similarities between what it provides as responsibilities and what you actually do is below 50%. There are better roles within the company. This one is not it.

Pros

They have great benefits but everyone inside who has been there for more than a year become like part of a sect. The employees are scared about management and afraid to speak up about their negative experience.

Cons

ADP will let you go and talk crap about you to other employers. Regardless what HR says about just reporting dates to others they still talk crap about you behind your back. There are notes that HR keep in the system which the service line usually in India has access to and they just repeat what they see. I had to send them a cease and desist letter.
