Pros

Good benefits and decent pay is about the only good thing about this job

Cons

Management is all over the place. When issues arise, instead of getting ahead of it and notifying clients, they would prefer to have it addressed until the client calls and was already frustrated. Not very proactive. Manager almost never checked in to see how their team is doing, other than the occasional reprimand of the team when numbers were bad. Expect you to work like robots. this is purely a numbers based job. They don't know any other way to recognize production other than how many emails, calls and cases you close. Being hired I didn't realize I would be working at a call center. Its everyone for them selves there. Being trained properly was impossible. no set standards of how to do the job. A lot of nepotism. I was located at the El Paso, TX branch and upper management was based in Alpharetta, GA. Seemed like our team in El Paso could never be up to the standards of the Alpharetta team. I felt like it was very much US vs Them which wasn't the best for moral. There is a facade that we're all a family but it was more of a I was miserable, always on edge of whether or not I would lose my job. Had no sense of security. But I guess that's what you get with big corporations. Lesson was learned

Pros

Pros - Relaxed working hours - High standard of basic sales training - Good pay (if you get to the relevant levels) - Easy to sit comfortably as a middle tier under-performer for years without challenge - President's club

Cons

Before you read the below, be conscious of the following: ADP is a big, diverse company meaning that this feedback doesn’t necessarily apply to all teams and locations across the organization. While the experiences below are mine, the thoughts and feelings I’m sharing also reflect those of many that I directly worked with. There are really so many directions you could consider the cons of working for ADP. Some are relevant to the greater organization, while others are specific to the job function or team that you work within. Firstly, from a company perspective, ADP is going nowhere. If you're interested in blowing back the cobwebs and enjoying the feel of the 'good old days' selling double glazed windows and color printers, this is your place. In a world of innovation, technology, and customer experience, ADP's business objective is to sling ridiculous professional services at a market rate that not even they themselves can justify. Let that just sink in for a second. A multi-billion dollar company that invests millions a year into R&D sees it's competitive advantage as being it's professional outsourcing solutions. The company slogan of "always designing for people" is nothing short of ironic. The only 'designing' for 'people' I have experienced in recent years have been aggressive spending freezes (pre-pandemic) and quota increases. No holiday parties, no sales kickoffs...no investment in their people. The entire company's value pitch is around the importance of valuing people and what they bring to their employer, yet none of that is reflected in their own company culture. On a more local level, most roles are remote for the majority of the time, but worry not, you will be asked to visit the wonderful Californian suburb of Pleasanton once a week for some forced (and totally unnecessary) team meetings, before returning to your 6X6ft grey office cubicle (yes, they still have those). Management on a local basis are totally disengaged. There is a CLEAR path for those who fall into the senior's favorites list and for everyone else, you will get the scraps. Those that fit the relevant mold will have priorities over the preferential territories, lower quotas and considerably higher earning potential.
