Pros

a great building and management group. the company really tries to keep you involved in the bottom line numbers presentations. growth opportunities are possible. overall I would say work at afl if you like people who come in everyday and give effort afl is the place for you the culture is to keep getting better.

Cons

some say that in comparison to the local area wage competition the pay is right in the middle of the scale for the area, I have done the research. also there are a lot of silos keeping the company from growing and excelling some of the more experienced employees use there knowledge as leverage to sit around doing less and less, while young blossoming talent is being root bound because the lazy long timers wont get out of the way and let the new talent grow the company and add marginal differences to the bottom dollar.

Pros

Friendly atmosphere, great team. Everyone worked together and enjoyed their job. You could work from home to avoid traffic and related inconvenience.

Cons

No significant raises in 18 years. No room for advancement. When they approved telecommuting they shut down the office, therefore there was no more interactions with employees.

Pros

The Associates on the production floor really want to produce the best quality possible. Willing to help wherever possible. Good cooperation from other departments when needed.

Cons

Micromanagement by the manager of my department. Supervisors in this department not empowered to make needed changes. Supervisors are not given critical communication about production changes. Manager often makes allows people to go home without communicating to the supervisors. Supervisors are not permitted to train associates when the opportunity arrives due to an inflexible training schedule. Supervisors miss opportunities to make affective changes due to micromanagement. Manager creates and adversarial atmosphere whenever involved in addressing issues with production, quality, management and other departments. Poor communication from top down.
