Pros

There are plenty of good people that work here, and some of them are trying.

Cons

Those good people are terrible co workers. Upper management is in terrible, and misleading. Middle management often makes moves/says things due to panic. So many rumors start up everyday and are often spread through middle management. The policies that they have are often broken, or "exceptions" are made. Lowering sales commission has now upset the team and they are losing sales team members and clients because of it. The HR team seems to have no clue what they are doing, constantly switching job duties, and they have had at least 5 team members come and go over the past 2 years. If they can't keep their own team together how are they supposed to provide for the company? HR is the worst about breaking the policies that they often set. They have been saying that things are changing for the better for several years now, but they keep making the same mistakes. look at the comments on here, as time goes on they get worse and worse.

While I recognize your experience was negative at AFS, I do appreciate your time in writing this review. Without specifics, I can’t speak to some of your feedback. The sales commissions were not lowered, but became more of an initiative for our sales team to pursue new clients. This commission model is best practice in our industry. The HR team have employed temporary employees who have assisted with projects, but only hired 2 full time employees in the past 2 years. We evaluate the strengths of our team and have shifted duties within our department as we grow and bring new experience to the team. We also believe in cross-training, which allows us to offer the best service to our employees. The current team has over 40 years of experience in HR and takes pride in our current initiatives that align with the company’s business goals.

Pros

I like my coworkers. The benefits are good. It’s a nice building.

Cons

There have been a lot of promises made by new leadership. It was once a hopeful environment. Now it feels that no one trusts leadership. Nothing is planned out properly. There is no communication among departments or from leadership down. You can be in someone’s good graces one day, but fired the next. Turn over is very high. The environment is very negative. There are whispers in the halls about job opportunities elsewhere. AFS has great potential but seems to be going in a very bad direction. Client retention seems like the lowest priority.

Thank you for your feedback. As a current employee, I can tell that you care about the success of the organization, as we all have a part in building our culture at AFS. Often times when there is turnover, employees do not know the entire situation in why someone is leaving, as they shouldn’t, with a confidential HR team. I encourage you to share feedback with your supervisor or a member of HR of ideas for improvements on morale. We recognize that when a company experiences change, it can cause uncertainty. The only way to combat this is to be part of the solution and I personally welcome any ideas and will listen. Client retention is currently at the top of the priority list at AFS, per our leadership team.

Pros

Always got paid....always a discrepancy with commissions, but paid none the less. Commission payout explanation is a 7 page excel spreadsheet.

Cons

Dead end job, commission structure is awful, company does not promote sales people, complete disconnect between sales and leadership, promises of new products that never come, operations is a disaster, software is outdated, SOP’s are not thought out, no trust of sales team, C level seems to have its own agenda, VP’s are untrained and lack direction (probably because of lack of communication from C level) 4 VPs of sales in 4 years, 4 pay structure changes in 4 years, 3 CIO’s in 4 years, 4 Heads of Operations in 4 years, 4 Presidents in 4 years *CFO is a snake and runs HR. Voicing an opinion to HR is a death sentence. *AFS is has lost all focus and is completely out of touch with modern logistical practices. Combustion is imminent. *Positive reviews here are written by management or employees who are new to the company. Buyer beware.

Commission structures are often very detailed and the spreadsheet provided to the sales team is for transparency purposes, which allows sales members to voice any concerns for review by the Compensation Team. AFS has and will continue to experience change in the organization. As many reviews have stated, it’s a fast-paced environment that requires high performance, which can be seen as challenging. Positive changes can’t be made in the organization without change in action, which our leadership team and management is driving.
