Pros

Reasonable pay. Acts quickly if they think you can make money for them. There are no more pros - extremely negative experience.

Cons

Very disorganized. Claims to support the employee - could not be farther from the truth. Their contracts support the client and themselves, no one else. Will mislead you about your chances of being hired on full time in order to get what they want. Do not communicate. Once you are placed - radio silence. Accept a position only as a last resort.

Hello, this is Kyle Guilford, Co-Founder and President. What you are describing does not reflect the philosophy or practices of AIM Consulting and thus I would like to better understand your experience. It would help in particular to know which AIM office you contracted for. Please note that AIM Consulting sold its East offices (Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas) April 5th. Either way, we want to know what happened so we can address it. You can get in touch with me at 206.624.5333

Pros

When i was at a client, the Recruiter would check in regularly..however, didn't offer much support when things weren't perfect or running seamless. You're pretty much left to your own device.

Cons

You need to be ok with being dropped once your project ends. They will tell you that your very important to them, especially if you've been networking with them for years but when it really comes down to retaining good resources, perhaps they should invest in that rather then looking for new talent.

Hello. This is Kyle Guilford, Co-Founder and President. First, I want to thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. This is not characteristic of the way we do things at AIM. Our differentiation in the marketplace is the focus we put on building long term relationships with technology talent. It would help to know which office you contracted for and I would appreciate if you could provide more information about what precisely happened. You can reach me at 206-624-5333.

Pros

AIM is a great first job and a way to get your foot in the door in the tech industry. Will learn a lot of invaluable lessons about people, managers, companies, and the hiring process as a whole. If you take to heart "building long-term relationships" you will make connections that will last a life time. It’s a fast passed environment and a lot of highs and lows but when things are falling together just right, its so much fun. If you are semi decent at reading people and can match the candidate’s skills to the right job and manager, you'll do fine and can make a lot of money as a recruiter and account executive.

Cons

AIM is not what it used to be. The start up vibe has died and now answers to the corporate behemoth. Blind faith and herd mentality are expected. If you keep your eyes closed, put your head down, and if you don't question the "this is how we've always done it because its the only way it works" mindset, you might survive. What once was a company that fostered creativity, supported their employees, and truly believed in helping others has turned into a revenue hungry monster. The special culture of AIM has been lost and what once was great, has turned into uncomfortable work environment especially for women. Issues that should be brought to HR's attention are swept under the rug by management and will be covered up making it seem like a lesser issues than it really is. Employees wont reach out to HR is a because they fear that they will lose their job for speaking up even when the situation 100% calls for it. That is a huge problem. Management and team leads will play employees against each other and turn them against each other to create divides which results is an unhealthy and hostile work place. No such thing as flexible work hours, taking PTO might as well be a crime, and no one will believe you if you are sick. For a company that's foundation is supposedly built on trust, those blocks are held together by lies. Management lies to their employees, Account executives lie to their teams about qualified jobs and communication with managers, MTAR's are expected to lie to candidates/consultants when it means closing the deal.. when thats the standard that has been created, it infects everything. People are happy until the blind fold comes off and reality sets in that as a person, you don’t matter. As an employee, you are nothing but a number expected to crank out numbers and generate revenue. Nothing more, nothing less.
