Pros

AJ Tutoring invests a lot of time and training in tutors early on, and provides strong ongoing support once they're up and running. This is mirrored when tutors move up into leadership positions. There are many avenues for leadership growth within the company, and it works to be as transparent as possible about available paths upward.

Cons

Due to the nature of the tutoring business, work-life balance is a constant struggle, and sometimes requires difficult choices. In particular, the ramp up process for a new tutor can sometimes be unpredictable, and switching from saying "yes" as much as possible in order to hit necessary hours to saying "no" sometimes in order to make the role sustainable requires a lot of intention. It works out extremely well when you pull it off, but the transition can be a struggle.
