Pros

Manage your own schedule, work in office or at home

Cons

Extremely cheap company. Families are charged $100+ and tutor are paid less than 30%. Hourly wage, not salary. Theyre very cheap they don't encourage overtime because they cannot afford it. Admin and breaks pay is minimum wage. Like seriously? U meet the founders once in am interview and after that they just sit back and eat passive income. AJ Tutor is very expensive when the tutors are paid less despite the high quality work services. Their wage bonus is literally nothing. You get paid more at other tutoring services if u have a Bachelors. Horrible employer!

Pros

The hourly pay is not bad at first, the work is generally pretty fun. They seem to be better than a lot of other tutoring companies

Cons

AJ is quiet stingy with raises and promotions. They are unlikely to give you a promotion unless you have been there over five years and the average employee probably only lasts one or two years. The pay they advertise is also NOT the pay you actually receive. About one fifth to one quarter of your actual hours will be "administrative pay" rather than tutoring pay, which right now is only 18 dollars per hour. Also the work is highly seasonal so you have to work very long and weird hours for a few months of the year in order to make up for the very slow summers.

Cons

You can only work when people aren't in school (off hours, weekends, etc) Work is inconsistent, work is slow/nonexistent for a good 1/3rd of the year You make less than 50% of what the company charges the client Department meetings are a waste of everyone's time
