Pros

Pay, and nice work colleagues

Cons

Unsafe place to work, Aldi's application of Health and Safety guidelines such as Management of Change, Working Time Directive and Fatigue Analysis are seriously lacking. The only performance parameter is pick rate, which takes no account of the working environment, or increased staff levels. Both the amount and management of stock in the isles lends itself towards high risk of incident and accident. The change of work pattern asking employee's to come in one or sometimes two hours earlier than their contracted hours results in fatigue and the lack of breaks as defined in the employee handbook heightens the risks even further. During my time there employees would regularly work a 10hour shift and only given one 20minute break. There were many incidents, near misses and minor accidents, all of which could lead to far more serious consequences.

Pros

I absolutely LOVED working at ALDI! One of the things that I loved most about the job is the company focuses on working as a team. The management and the cashiers are very engaged in their work and know what needs to get done. The company is very encouraging and if you do your job, you can easily move up in the business.

Cons

There is a lot of work you have to do. You don't just ring out customers, but you also focus on stocking the store, cleaning and working with large machines that you do on a daily basis. However, it's only hard if you are not a hard worker. Also, if you work Full-Time or as a Shift Manager, be sure to be ready to have a flexible schedule because you could be working any shift they need you to work.

Pros

It pays well and that is about it.

Cons

Horrible place to work. The work/life balance is non existent and it is very difficult work. They ask you to unload a six foot pallet in the a.m in a half hour or less and if you can not do that then they fire you. Scheduling was unfair as well but I guess that is dependent on the manager.
