Pros

good pay, vacation, benefits yada yada and no need for a gym membership because you're basically lifting all day long!

Cons

If you plan on going to school, don't even bother working here full-time... Manager or District Manager will discourage you from school and force you to be part time if your hours are under 30. Scheduling is crap. You end up working by yourself for most of the afternoon on Saturdays and possibly sundays. If you can deal with high stress, be my guest! But after being here for almost 2 years I can completely understand why people come and go so quickly. I was just blinded by the fact that I work so hard and appreciate my success (oh and you don't get praise for ANYTHING, so dont expect it. Apparently your "pay" is your praise). $12.00/HR isn't even worth all the crap we have to deal with on a daily basis. Yes, you can sit in a chair when you're on register, but those chairs are only there because early morning associates kick their own butts trying to stock the store while others slack. Customers will treat you like crap and ignore you. Then complain about you for something you probably did not do and are over exaggerating. No one gives compliments anymore, you have time to complain soooo why not take a second to talk to the manager and tell them we're doing a good job? A little motivation would help us get through what seems like a 12-hour shift.

Shift Manager

Recommend

Business Outlook

Pros

-Great benefits. Medical, Dental, Vision, Paid Vacation, Paid holidays, 401k, GREAT PAY -fast paced environment, always something to do.

Cons

-They claim they promote from within, but I have only witnessed cashier to shift manager promotions. They hire Manager Trainees straight off the street, not considering shift managers ready for a promotion. -extremely stressful -sometimes your store manager is under so much stress from "higher ups" that it trickles down throughout your whole team.
