Pros
-Pay is above industry standards -health, vision, dental, 401k -Time Flies while at work
Cons
-The workload is physically and mentally demanding. The work requires constant attention and focus meeting customer demands. I am in my younger 20's and most days I come home and crash after work. Many employees who have been at the job for years develop back problems, arthritis, and even anxiety disorders. -Scheduling practices at Aldis puts a ton of stress on employees. There is no consistency with the schedule and close opens are common. An example of a schedule for an associate/shift manager can look like: M: 2pm-9pm T:6am-2pm Th:4-9pm F-9am-5pm Sun: 11am-8pm. Scheduling this way disrupts the sleep-wake cycle contributing to sleep deprivation. Creating further physiological stress on employees as the scheduling does not give employees an opportunity to develop a decent sleep routine. -Aldis usually schedules a skeleton staff using the fewest number of employees to meet demands for the day. When an employee calls off, sales increase, or a heavier truck load comes in employees are usually called in on their day off.
