What a joke

Pros

Mostly decent coworkers, lots of chances to get LDTs for extra cash, EMS week, well, not much else to be honest

Cons

Management is a joke. If you're a female, you'll get screwed over at some point or another. They hide so much. An employee beat up a patient and they swept it under the rug. Horrible, broken equipment!! Meds out of date, broken stethoscopes for us to use, broken cots. So much more

Pros

Employee appreciation, potlucks, bbq's, EMS week, comm center is fun.

Cons

You never know what time you'll be off. The shifts rotate every few months so with that, you may not get a good pick on the unit that works best for you. For example, if you're a mom and you get put onto a late night unit, you're screwed. Happened to me.

Pros

Fun job as an EMT.

Cons

Fun job as long as you don't take too much pride in it, because you will be disappointed. The company is very penny pinching. Local management is good, but executive management is more about numbers than about people. As long as they have warm bodies doing reports and not wrecking ambulances, then they can meet their goals. EMT pay is not good. The union contract is bizarre. Ambulances are old.
