Worst place ever to work

Pros

-You meet some great people, make really good friends and experience things you normally would not at a regular 9-5 job. - Benefits are not to bad, could be better. - Union shop; good at times bad at others.

Cons

-"0" appreciation for the work you do. You will never hear a simple "thank you" or "good job" from management. -You start off at around minimum wage. -Your ideas and suggestions are ignored by Ops manager -Equipment is old and unreliable. -Very long hours; they always want you to work more and more but never say thank you. -Supervisors and up only make real money, some six figures. -Union dues are expensive! $100 month -Our manager is clueless as to what he is doing, micro manages, does not allow his supervisors to do the job they were hired to do, puts money above the well-being of the crews and has NO previous management experience. -Terrible morale, mainly because of the Ops managers poor management abilities.

Incompetent leadership

Business Outlook

Pros

Low call volume, decent trucks, and co-workers are good.

Cons

Supervisors and upper management are incompetent. Schedule are consistently messed up or not posted until the night before. There is little to no supervisor support, they will hold things against you even when its their fault. Upper management looks out for each other and always put fault on employee. Paid-Time-off will not be honored most of the time. To call out you must actively find other employees to fill in the shift for you before supervisor allows it. Even then there are a ton of issues in getting people to cover. Supervisor will always change how things are done as far as call outs goes. When you put yourself as unavailable don't expect to have off cause they will almost always schedule you in your most inconvenient times. The pay is far below the standards of other EMS companies. Raises come sparsely and even then its only a 1-2% increase.
