Pros

Job stability, until the contract runs out because upper level management screws it up. You get to be a paramedic because it's the only game in town unless you want to be a firefighter who dabbles in medicine.

Cons

Demeaning pay. We're talking $12 per hour for an experienced paramedic with 10 Years of 911 and critical care. Management thinks you're just a number. Education benefits are non-existent. Critical thinking is a sin in this organization.

Pros

At AMR there is potential for learning opportunities for those new to EMS, lots of patients in the IFT market. Workers are generally nice.

Cons

Equipment is not so great. Pay is horrible. Management could be a lot better. Very impersonal. Didn't really feel welcome or a need to stick around.
