Working at ASM was disappointing. While the company positions itself as an innovative leader in semiconductor equipment, the internal culture doesn’t reflect that. Communication is inconsistent, and leadership seems more focused on appearances than on genuine problem-solving. Career development opportunities are limited, and promotions feel political rather than merit-based. Employee input is rarely valued, and the lack of transparency around major decisions creates a stressful environment. For a company in such a fast-paced industry, they struggle to adapt and empower their teams to succeed. The technology and customer relationships might be impressive, but internally the company suffers from poor leadership, weak processes, and a culture that doesn’t truly support its people.
