Pros

Management’s leadership style could be described as “aspirational”—as in, they aspire to lead someday. Communication arrives in the form of riddles, half-updates, or surprise policy changes delivered with the enthusiasm of someone reading a grocery list. Priorities shift so often that “stability” becomes more of an abstract concept you vaguely remember from a previous life.

Cons

Working here is like starring in a sitcom no one asked for and that somehow still hasn’t been cancelled. The company’s daily operations feel less like a business and more like an ongoing social experiment to see how long people can function without clear direction, resources, or sanity Career development opportunities exist, mostly in the form of learning how to smile politely while quietly reevaluating all your decisions.

Pros

Colleagues who are also trying to survive Occasional pockets of competence

Cons

Working here was an exercise in patience, frustration, and lowered expectations. The disconnect between leadership and the actual day-to-day reality is staggering. Decisions seem to be made without understanding how they impact employees, and communication usually comes after something has already gone wrong. The blame game usually leads to managers putting people they dislike on performance improvement plans , and they will ensure that the environment of fear is perpetuated in Singapore. Workload is heavy, support from mangers in Asia and Singapore is minimal, and career development feels more like an accidental event than something the company intentionally fosters. Teams are often left to figure things out on their own, and when issues inevitably arise, accountability is unclear. Mangers will not hesitate to blame their reports in Asia if things go wrong and when things go well, they would take full credit. The company talks a big game about innovation and culture, but the internal experience rarely matches the messaging. Processes are chaotic, priorities change weekly, and employees are left scrambling to clean up the fallout from unclear direction. The leadership style can best be described as “mysterious forces at work.” Decisions drop from the sky with no warning, no explanation, and no connection to anything happening on Earth. It’s almost spiritual, in a “What cosmic joke is this?” kind of way. If nothing else, ASM gifted me one thing: a deeply humbling reminder that rock bottom has a basement.
