Some freedom facilitates creative problem-solving. There are some very good people who work hard and for the most part, go unrecognized.

Cons

Politics and company culture for anyone below Director and Manager level is fairly toxic

Lots of good, professional colleagues; very good benefits

Cons

Unclear goals, changing volunteer officers are the bosses, overly corporate attitude by HR at times. Employees seem to be expendable at times, lots of shifting and reorgs in the past 10 years.

Pros

Great co-workers that care about your success and are helpful. Good location. I enjoy the new CEO, he is trying to turn the ship.

Cons

Working with supporting departments is a nightmare. Would like to spend more time making my events stronger, but have to do battle with the other departments to get basic work done. Finance and IT run the place, yet are mediocre at their jobs at best. Most of the executive office and the HR department are not friendly and some are downright rude and degrading. The way I've seen them speak to people is disgusting.
