Pros

State of the art technology. Working with engineers from all over the world. Company is growing. Benefits are nice. IT department is really good.

Cons

Unhealthy working environment- impossible schedules, very little testing capabilities and project management tools to deal with, alongside with bad treatment of employees.

Pros

Exciting new technologies. Learning cutting edge technologies made the job very challenging. Training opportunities were available. Access to knowledge databases were also available in order to understand the new technologies. Benefits included medical and dental insurance with various coverage. Annual profit sharing was a plus. Long and short term disability insurance were also available in the benefits plan.

Cons

Office politics with management was chaotic. Unrealistic goals for achievement made it difficult to accomplish. Favoritism played a large role with management causing an unfavorable work environment. Personnel hired as managers lacked defining leadership qualities. ASML is a good company but the ASML office in Hillsboro Oregon lost sight creating a coordinate direction.

Pros

Very interesting and challenging projects. If you volunteer you can help some very interesting and challenging problems.

Cons

1) Management is the main problem with San Diego ASML. They are not in touch with what their employees do and therefore promotions are rare or can be nepotistic. 2) Even though there are highly technical people in this company it seems the loudest voice is trusted rather than the wisest. 3) Management hire inept individuals and the technical team have to support this individual in their daily work. Again managers not being technically capable is the issue here-they can't assess good candidates. 4) Very bad organization of data internally causes silos and lack of transparency. 5) Credit stealing and lack of acknowledgement of collaboration is another severe problem in ASML San Diego. This stems from the culture of promoting the individual rather than team work. All these problems probably stem from Cymer days since most of the managers are promoted from Cymer.
