Pros
Pay was alright, company was willing to get equipment like standing desks and better chairs with a doctor's note, office was nice and clean. Flex time was nice, you can work from home 1 day/week if you fill out a form. Occasional bonuses. You can wear jeans everyday. Has some DevOps
Cons
Complacency, confusing HR policies, some moral grey-area business practices. You must wait 3 FULL months before you're eligible for benefits. So if you start on May 2, your benefits are not active until September 1. Also, your health insurance ends on your final day of employment whereas most other companies will let you keep health insurance for at least 1 month after leaving. You must constantly keep track of your PTO because only 1 person in the company tracks your PTO in an Excel file. PTO accrual is asinine: you accrue from June-October, but cannot use until Jan 1 of following year so if you start in Q1 or Q2, you will only have a handful of days to use. I started early in the year and could only use 7 days for that year compared to the 16 I was promised when interviewing. Projects were pretty ad-hoc. New ideas for better workflows are shot down regularly.
