Locked in Confusion and Dysfunction

Pros

Good benefits Great margins Robust sales Year-over-year growth Competitive compensation Innovative products

Cons

Senior managers lack emotional intelligence and are disconnected from the employees. Employees are spread thin and managers expect their employees to hit a ton of check-the-box metrics. When someone leaves the company, the work is then given to other employees and the position is eliminated so they can claim it as a cost savings. Senior managers love to pit people against each other like it were a dog fight. It is almost as if it were a game or something. They'll spend thousands of dollars on robots that make boxes, but make you get management approval if you want to buy the office supplies needed for your job. New employees without any management experience and ability are promoted to jobs they can't do, while experienced employees who know what they are doing leave the company because management doesn't see them as deserving of promotional opportunities or they just plain ignore them. The incompetent employees just hide in their offices with the door closed and management does nothing about it. If you do a good job they won't let you move into another position because they say you are too valuable where you are at.

Pros

- The experience while working here, will prepare you for anything you may deal with in future job positions.

Cons

- No official training process. Sink-or-swim mentality. - Work-life balance is nonexistent. A lot of project managers are forced to work late nights, and over the weekends just to keep up with the demand of the workload. - The workload is heavier than most project management positions but the pay is a lot less. - Processes and job duties are constantly changing making it hard to keep up at times. - Management and senior project managers are constantly gossiping about previous employees and employees in other departments. - In addition to the previous point, we are required to fill out an anonymous employee satisfaction survey. Our manager would encourage us to be honest but then turn around and tell us how when a previous employee reported alarming behavior from a manager, our manager and other leaders tried to investigate to find out who submitted that survey. - Management tears down employees a lot, and does not seem to take accountability for anything that goes wrong. The PM's are extremely overworked and our manager would often tell us how she used to have heavier workloads when she was in our position, in an effort to make us work harder. - Nearly impossible to grow or succeed with the heavy workload, constantly changing demands and duties. - Managers single you out a lot, instead of discussing with you where you are going wrong, and helping you improve. I personally have had my manager not bring up an issue to me in our weekly one-on-one meetings, and then call me out in our team meeting multiple times. - Everyone is so overworked and stressed out it leaves everyone on edge, and short tempered, and makes it difficult to effectively communicate with each other. - The work environment is so tense due to all of these factors, but everyone tip-toes around it making it even worse.
