If you’re looking for a textbook example of corporate incompetence, look no further than ASSA ABLOY PTI Security. Under the “leadership” of the current president, this company has become a rudderless ship, drifting aimlessly while its competitors surge ahead. The president, who seemingly has no grasp of how to run a business, presides over a management team that thrives on poor decisions, lack of vision, and a complete disregard for employee morale. Leadership? More Like a Dictatorship Let’s start with the head of the snake, a president in title only. His decision-making is erratic, his strategy nonexistent, and his ability to inspire confidence in his team is laughable. Instead of fostering innovation or growth, he micromanages his subordinates into submission, creating a culture where independent thought is punished, and blind obedience is rewarded. Then there’s the so-called Head of HR, who is little more than a puppet executing the President's every whim. Rather than advocating for employees or fostering a positive workplace, the HR head operates as an extension of the Presidents will, rubber-stamping policies that erode morale and drive talent away. A real HR leader fights for their people—Sambo just nods and follows orders. And who could forget VP of Ops? A man who somehow holds a leadership position despite possessing zero technical expertise and even less backbone. He hides behind his team, taking credit where he can and deflecting blame when things go wrong—which they often do. His sole function appears to be echoing whatever the President says, making him yet another yes-man in a company drowning in them. PTI’s product offerings are outdated, unreliable, and embarrassingly inferior to competitors like OpenTech. While OpenTech innovates and adapts to market demands, PTI clings to legacy systems, refusing to acknowledge that their technology is being left in the dust. Customers aren’t stupid—they see the lack of investment in R&D, the sluggish updates, and the half-baked “solutions” that fail to deliver. The sudden, unannounced shift from three days to four days in-office is a perfect example of PTI’s contempt for its employees. No discussion, no consideration for work-life balance—just a heavy-handed mandate that reeks of desperation. This isn’t about productivity; it’s about control. Competitors are offering flexibility and attracting top talent, while PTI is driving theirs away with archaic, tone-deaf policies. No Direction, No Will to Win The entire management team operates without a coherent strategy. There’s no hunger to compete, no urgency to improve, and certainly no willingness to admit failure. Instead of fostering a culture of excellence, they’ve created a stagnant environment where mediocrity is the standard and accountability is nonexistent. Final Verdict: A Failing Company with Failing Leadership ASSA ABLOY PTI Security is a sinking ship, and the blame rests squarely on the shoulders of the President and his sycophantic leadership team. Until there’s a complete overhaul—starting with the president's removal—this company will continue to hemorrhage talent, lose customers, and fall further behind competitors. If you value your career or your business, steer clear of PTI. There are far better options out there. Only a matter of time before Assa Abloy divests from PTI Security.
