stressful place to work

Pros

fairly good compensation for airline industry, good benefits, some employees permitted flex schedule/work from home 1-2 days/week. Casual attire. Company laptop provided.

Cons

plenty of backstabbing, arguing between managers, passing on blame to others. Favoritism. Review process discouraging because "standard" is set so high (no incentive to push yourself because you'll never be "above average"). travel benefits difficult to use in todays environment. Since company provides laptop, some departments expected to work from home when you can not make it to work during your regular shift. This has all but eliminated "calling in sick".

Pros

Competitive pay, flex-time, great benefits, free parking, located next to the airport which is convenient for travel. Good training budget. Easy to get licenses for any software you need for you job. I like my manager and my manager's manager. Not too fond of my manager's manager's manager, though. Nor her manager. There's a lot of layers in this company.

Cons

It's a weird combination of old-timers who are stuck in their old ways of doing things and new people who don't understand why we can't be innovative and agile. I am optimistic about change, but I think it's going to be a slow, painful process.

Not the place to go

Pros

Competitive salary and benefits. Company laptop.

Cons

Mid-level management in the Marketing division are all at war with each other. They back stab each other and senior management regularly and this trickles down to employees. Brown nosing staff and staff who take credit for others work are rewarded while hard working individuals are ignored and passed over. "Reorganizations" are used to eliminate older staff members and/or people that aren't well liked by the ATPCO "clique" regardless of outstanding performance. The work left by these reorgs is piled on those who remain. The CEO is intentionally kept in the dark by Senior Management about much of what goes on in the company. Bringing issues to HR is guaranteed to get you fired.
