Pros

The industry leader in AV Services. Many opportunities worldwide; many options if looking to transfer. Many different departments and options.

Cons

Pay is Good but could be better. Similar companies pay a bit more. Insurance benefits are GREAT. But they are quite pricey. I wish it wasnt as expensive.

Pros

Mostly nice people. Large company. Good benefits. Possibility for transfer to other locations.

Cons

Not a lot of paid vacation time. Not the best pay for industry average. Lot of corporate games like other large companies.

Pros

AVI-SPL still has some of the most talented engineers, programmers, and fabricators in industry under roof. Their experience includes numerous large scale, high profile AV installations across the US and throughout the world. The operational talent is very generous in sharing knowledge regarding the engineering, configuration and deployment.

Cons

This is an bureaucratic organization, some say overly, and management philosophy seems at odds with the constructs of operational efficiency and employee empowerment. They define rigid lines between job descriptions, which is limiting in terms of employee engagement and growth. While keeping design engineers chained to a cubicle might to generate drawings, schedules and equipment lists might seem to be efficient, keeping them out of the field means that they don't learn first hand from successes or failures. There are other examples, and I suggest that anyone considering a position talk with the employees in the office of interest. Be aware that each office has a distinct culture.
