Pros
Regular pay checks and a reasonable expectation of job security, but with a twist. The job security is based on teh enforcement expectation of a required non-compete that they make you sign to work there. They will sue you if you leave, they will threaten competitive employers with law suites if they hire you. I got out because they lost my non-compete agreement paper work. I asked for a copy, they couldn't provided it, and a week later we mutually agreed to part ways. They still threatened some potential employers in the area with litigation if they hired Whitlock people, so it was a challenge to get a new job. It worked out for the best though.
Cons
My first few years there were great, then the middle managers arrived, and it became an abusive and intolerant place to work, all the fun was gone, the bonuses went away, the hours went up and the quality of the work and projects went down hard. My last few years there were dismal at best.
