Pros

The job was pretty easy and the company we contracted for was great.

Cons

Zero leadership. Minds were changed on a whim as far as how things were done. Also, managers hired family members who were poor performers yet did nothing to stem the spread of their cancerous interactions with the customer.

Dinosaur in an age of services

Pros

A well-known company that is a global leader in AV. Paychecks are on time. Flexible schedules depending on your role in the company. Minimal travel. VERY good at implementing AV If your a customer get upset a few times and you will get rewarded

Cons

Antiquated business systems and process that are ridiculous, the company refuses to get serious about fixing them causing so much bloat it's shocking. Who you know and who you fawn over is MORE important than what you known and how you have contributed to the business, especially true in the services and development teams. Regional offices have to much power and independence they need to follow the same sheet of music and they do not. Customer and employee experience will vary greatly as a result. Sales people have no idea how to sell anything except AV, which makes their sales model suffer. AVI-SPL tries to do services beyond AV but its a struggle, as sales gives away so much and with leaderships blessing. Symphony their flagship service product is unstable and insecure, programming outsourced to Russia. Crashes and hangs constantly, development only engages when they feel like it, no processes, no documentation and a strong feeling of entitlement makes working with as desirabler as a root canal. Issues, bugs and outages are common, documentation and processes are non-existent. CEO is still running the company and its growth is fairly stagnant. Benefits are minimal and pay raises/bonuses are only given to the corporate officers. So get your best salary on day one. Amazing the CEO is still the CEO given all the issues. Not enough control from the investment company that owns them, this could be a GREAT company but the needed changes never get implemented.

AVI-SPL appreciates the different perspectives shared on Glassdoor.com. However, in some instances, the representation of information is not factual and is damaging to the Company’s brand and product strategies. AVI-SPL strongly rejects the contents of this review as false and misleading. Among other comments, the allegation that programming of any kind is “outsourced to Russia” is blatantly false.

You will get a paycheck.

Cons

Multiple sexual harassment instances in the workplace not taken care of properly by management and human resources. Harassers still work for the company today.

We also provide harassment training on a regular basis, and maintain an ethics hotline for employees to report complaints confidentially to an independent third-party service.
