Pros

Provides experience in a pharmaceutical environment with complex auditng functions and numerous audits throughout the year. Fast paced and lots of work available to those who want to take it on.

Cons

No clear direction other than cost-cutting, and overburdening remaining employees. Indiscriminate cuts take away important job functions and knowledge base. Sometimes there are conflicting projects and lots of stress.

Pros

I really can't complain. I've had great managers and sold decent products. Overall, Abbott has been pretty fair. Although so much depends on your manager. I've heard some horror stories about micromanaging militaristic managers.

Cons

Abbott has a tendency of buying companies, keeping the acquired company's employees and letting Abbott legacy employees go. Because of this trend, each division is run completely differently. Since most of the division's management comes from another company, each division has a radically different culture and feel. Divisions and departments are run in silos.
