No Work-Life Balance

Pros

* Steady employment if you continually do more work for same pay * Lots of perks at HQ (satellite offices fend for themselves) * Pension for the lifers

Cons

* Non-exempt = substantial penalties for sick days (salary, bonus, 401k all docked 25%) * Exempt = no more family/friends (weekends, holidays, "vacation" belong to Abbott) * Management lacks respect, trust, concept of life outside of Abbott

Pros

Good benefits. Great for gaining experience.

Cons

After the split with Abbvie there is no where to move up. Took all the opportunities away. So concerned about being lean -- some staff don't have the time to breathe.
