Pros

From the very basic level of an ABA company, ABLE Kids is an early intervention clinic for children 2-6 years old. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. As a BCBA, I have worked for two other ABA companies that do more of the "traditional" model of providing services to children 2-21 years old and operating hours were 8am-8pm seven days a week. When I was presented with the opportunity to work for ABLE Kids, I was ready for a change that would grant me the chance to have a work-life balance that was never really an option with my previous employers. Benefits are great. Health insurance has great plan options. Paid time off is accrued for a total of 120 hours per year, along with 6 paid holidays. Quarterly profit sharing. CEU reimbursement. At a deeper level, ABLE Kids has renewed my passion for behavior analysis. I feel empowered as a BCBA. I feel comfortable to share ideas freely and give my honest opinion on matters and know that I am being heard. More often than not, changes are made due to the open communication and knowing how to improve. The company has grown so much and we have such a great clinical team with such valuable experience and ideas to bring to the table.

Cons

Honestly, I love going into work. I love seeing my clients every day. I love the team of RBTs that I have put together. Some cons that I have experienced over my 1.5 years with the company are mostly in regards to communication from the corporate level. There are times when it seems like there are too many hands in the pot and no one knows what anyone is doing. The BCBAs communicate amongst one another and some BCBAs are shared policies and/or procedures from corporate that are not communicated to the clinical team as a whole. Obviously, some situations are handled on a per case basis and aren't applicable to the whole company. The company has made GREAT improvements in so many areas in the short time that I have been here. The largest impact is the annual pay rate increases for RBTs. Which is great as they are the driving force behind everything I do as a BCBA.
