You can't run fast enough

Pros

The company does offer competitive benefits, a good match on the 403b and a decent amount of time off if you are a salaried employee, if you are an hourly employee you need to work several years before you jump in accrual tiers. Company catered lunches are a nice touch but just show how truely divided the company is. Each department has their own clique they eat with that undermines the whole purpose of employee engagement activities.

Cons

Management has a lot to learn with how to train, develop, grow and respect employees. There is a lot of interdepartmental gossip and management does little to address it, if not contribute to it themselves. There is no room for growth, the company is very flat organizationally. Raises are mediocre to say the least, unless you are "in" with management. The CEO is not hands on with employees and is not very approachable.

This company helped start my career

Pros

First, I should mention that Accesslex was willing to take a risk with me early in my career and gave me the opportunity to develop my skill set at their company. I was able to get the time and support from management to grow into the position. This, coupled with cross-training in multiple disciplines in my field, has helped me greatly in my current work environment. Secondly, the benefits at this company, especially medical and 403b are great. When compared to the options available at most other companies that I have seen, especially medical, you’re going to wonder why you can’t get anything similar anywhere else. The amount the 403b matches is higher then I’ve seen anywhere, and the medical was easily better than the gold plans available on the open marketplace. Lastly, this company likes to throw social events throughout the year. These were always fun and a great way to get to talk with coworkers outside of your department. You’ll see people from all parts of the company at these events, including senior management and the CEO.

Cons

No options to use a Mac instead of windows. No telecommuting. This coupled with the company moving to another state is what ultimately led to me looking for employment closer to home. Otherwise I’d likely still be working there.

Good company and good people

Pros

Having worked at AccessLex, it's not clear as to what some of the other reviews here are referring to. Generally, this is a good company, with a solid mission, filled with caring people. The benefits are very good especially in comparison to current world we live in, (health care is great, along with generous 403b matching). It's not a huge company, so everyone needs to and is expected to pull their weight. The environment is professional and there was some cancer specifically in how the former COO ran things, that has thankfully been corrected. My management was always fair and easy to work with.

Cons

Work from home should be an option, its 2018.
