Pros

Looking back, having some perspective, it was not many pros there except that I met some nice people there.

Cons

After 2 years I finally realized that there was "mostly talk and no walk" at Accruent. The executives did not listen, they already knew everything. If someone spoke up or made a suggestion for improvement, the standard answer was "yes we know that and we are working on it" or "you are misinformed, please engage so you get a better understanding". They claimed an "open door" policy. But if you used it to speak up, you were tagged as a "poor value fit" and out of the company you went. Only "yes men" stayed there for long. A new change initiative was rolled out top-down every month or so, they all died as fast as they came. The executives were never smart enough to realize that what they came up with behind closed doors without involving the people and get them engaged.

Pros

If you want to work for an IT-company but do not have a science degree this is the place for you. Accruent's Talent Strategy is to hire what they call HIPLEs (Hi Potential Low Experience) people. They are not paying to market, but you get a job.

Cons

You will find it hard to really learn anything that you can use outside the company. Most experienced people leave within 12 months. There is a lot of talk about "values". The only "value" that counts here though, is the value of the mighty dollar. Respect and honesty is secondary to squeezing out the last dollar from the customers and saving on employee benefits.

Thanks for providing us feedback. We've clearly not been communicating effectively to you and a few other reviewers with similar feedback. I encourage you to come see me or someone you trust in the company to get more detail on our plans and strategies. In fact, I am conducting meetings all this month to review the latest progress and plans. Please attend one of those sessions if you can. Note - we've significantly increased, not decreased, benefits and salaries. Best, Wayne Roberts Chief Operating Officer

Pros

Excellent culture, enjoyable place to work and good people 'in the trenches'.

Cons

Typical 'corporate' setting and lots and lots of typical corporate people, unethical management and game players. Offering an excellent culture is no excuse to not offer options that would make your employees want to continue their employment with you.
