Pros

The first thing I noticed was how great the culture is. Even if the line of work isn't for you, it's hard to deny the good work culture. There are always different incentives throughout the week for various bonuses. I've seen rewards ranging from Mother's Day Gift packages to paid time off for philanthropy. I know it's not meant for everyone but it's nice to see the top people getting after their goals and being rewarded for it.

Cons

It's not for everyone. The way this compnay operates is similar to a sports team and if you don't have that type of mindset and can't shift your mindset to that, then it probably won't be a good fit. My advice to anyone applying or starting a new position with Acquire would be- try not to overthink it and get comfortable with failing forward.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review. We are pleased to hear you have enjoyed your time thus far working with our company. One thing we pride ourselves on here at Acquire is our company culture so it's wonderful to hear positive feedback regarding something we have worked so hard to build. Rewarding those who are going above and beyond is our way of not only encouraging them to continue their hard work but it is also our way of saying thank you. We have found, too, that by acknowledging these efforts and hard work during our group meetings, others are encouraged to work towards their own goals. Again, thank you for your feedback and we hope it aids future applicants in gaining more insight into Acquire. Kind Regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.

Pros

Really like the emphasis on culture building through being involved in the community. Last week our manager donated funds to a local charity after we overshot our 2 weeks campaign performance. It's a cool way to incentivise our team to make office rewards about community involvement. Says a lot about the leadership here. Really solid people.

Cons

Not everyone participates in the philanthropic side. Its voluntary so I get it, but it brb would be cool if everyone showed. It's a really competitive environment and that runs some the wrong way. Also the pace of work is rapid. Took me a week or two to adjust.

Pros

If you're looking to go into sales or business in general, they do well in teaching you how to sell a product/service/package.

Cons

I only worked for this company for one month. I learned immediately that they were not completely transparent throughout the interview and initial orientation process. They describe this as a marketing company but the reality is that you're basically a sales associate for the companies they represent (Directv, Verizon, etc.). You literally undergo daily training sessions that are redundant, to say the least, and felt more like "pep-talks" to distract you away from your horrible pay and the hour a day you get to spend with family. My daily schedule was split usually consisting of "pep-talks" in the morning, going home from the unnecessary meeting, then driving an hour or two away to a sams club or costco to sell phones, cable and a security system. Initially, I was told that I would get hourly pay and a commission based on how much you sell. About three weeks in, it became apparent that this was not the case from my checks (they were never more than $300). I sold more than 12 phones, 7 cable packages, and 4 security system leads within that one month of work, and I never got any of that commission. It was then explained to me that you could only get hourly ($10/hr) OR commission and commission was only an option if the amount of commission you would have made was more than what the hourly rate was. I was visibly confused and frustrated by this and they started to go into the whole "you have been doing SO well, especially being someone new, if you keep it up you'll be a manager soon and make way more." This eventually causes problems at home since I'm making almost nothing, leaving my wife to pay bills and me barely contributing to groceries and my car note. I try to stick it out thinking of what they said about the potential for success and I also try to convince my wife of this, but she's a smart cookie and was not buying the crap they were selling as much as I was. The final straw (which you would have thought would be the dishonesty about the pay since I had been working a full month--only being home for a couple of hours a day--and made less than $900) was when they asked me to fly to another state for a week. Now i know most people would be like. . .ummm you're traveling for free. Isn't that a good thing? Well they literally told me the day before I was supposed to fly out and my wife and I had literally just moved to this area and of course this happened to be my wife's birthday and she would be alone for it if I decided to travel last-minute. I let them know I would have to call my wife, but I really didn't think I should go. Unsurprisingly, my wife was extremely upset. We were already barely making ends meet, and now she was going to be alone on her birthday with her family living hundreds of miles away. I entered the meeting room again and let the bosses know I wouldn't be able to travel that week on such short notice. At first they tried to flatter me about my work ethic and performance over the weeks I had been there. When they saw that I really wasn't letting up, they kind of made it seem like I would have to choose this trip or risk losing my jobs /any hope for future promotions. I was feeling very conflicted but told them I would let them know within the next couple of hours after I spoke to my wife at home. Needless to say, my wife was pissed and really didn't want me to go, but with tears welling in her eyes, she eventually agreed. I knew that even though she said I could go, this would be a decision that could make or break our marriage especially because there were other very stressful things going on in our lives, including the current financial situation. That being said, I called my supervisor and told him I would not be going on the trip. He started up the talk they gave me in the office. When I explained the situation with my wife, and that I was worried that I could lose her because of this, he then went on to say "you have to make sacrifices for success and this is one of those moments when you'll have to sacrifice to succeed." That was THE FINAL STRAW. He was literally telling me to choose this trip even if it meant losing my wife. This company has no regard for family or employee financial security. In this moment I told my supervisor that I resign and that I would choose my wife over anything. The job comes with NO benefits, you don't get paid the full hours you work/attend meetings/travel, they are shady about paying you commission that you've earned, and they don't care about you, your family, or the lengths you go to earn them money. Save yourself the time, energy, and financial struggle and go and work for one of the many other companies in Raleigh that actually value their workers and offer benefits, time off, and hire management that wants to see your FAMILY prosper and not just their company's account.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review. Naturally, we are disappointed to hear that yours was less than satisfactory. In reading your statements, it was apparent that the thoughts expressed in your review stem from an emotional opinion. We acknowledge everyone’s right to an opinion but with all due respect, the emotional opinions expressed in this review are false and we would like to correct a few of them by listing some facts about our clients as well as our company. We want to begin by saying that as far as the transparency of our company, each of our applicants are taken through our interview process, which starts with an initial phone screening. The phone screening is virtually a mini interview where the applicant is given a brief description of our company. The reason behind the initial phone discussion is to explain the job description and see if the applicant would still like to schedule an interview. In addition to the phone screening, we implement a 3-part interview process to ensure that we are able to break down all the information and give the applicant multiple opportunities to ask questions. Aside from an in-depth vetting process, our website states that we work alongside Big Box Retailers, i.e. Costco and Sam’s Club, as you mentioned. This can be found here Acquire Website. In regards to our daily operations, there is a reason we go to market the way we do and we understand that it may not be the conventional idea that some have of marketing. Logically, wouldn’t prestigious corporations such as the ones listed in your review disapprove of a third party company, such as the one you have described? For example, at the end of 2018, our client, Costco, was valued at over 18 billion U.S. dollars and is one of the most valuable retail brands in the world. Similar facts can be found and said about a number of our clients so we would find it a bit alarming if such notable companies were not researching the businesses that represent their brands on a daily basis. 90% of our clients are amongst the top 10 most valuable brands in the world, which can be found here Most Valuable Brands 2019. We would like to add that Acquire is verified by the Fair Business Report and is also a member of the Raleigh Chamber of Commerce, which requires an in-person, in-office interview. We feel that the local Chamber of Commerce would only accept accredited businesses as members. Both of these are verified at the bottom of our website homepage. As for our business model, our philosophy is promoting from within based on merit without seniority. This allows a CEO to have empathy as well as an understanding of what every level goes through. It also cuts out the politics and bases every promotion on hard work. Very rarely do we fire someone but with all due respect, judging from your monthly performance listed in your review, our business probably was not the best fit for you. When it is apparent that an employee could excel quicker elsewhere, it is usually best that we go separate ways. This allows the individual to move forward with a different job that better suits their talents and needs. As for any out-of-market travel that was asked of you, we have a list of employees who would love to see a new city while we cover expenses such as flights, hotels, rental cars, uber and/or gas, so we must ask the question- Why would we force anyone to travel or make them feel like their job is threatened for not going? With 50+ employees, we have the ability to be selective with those that are offered travel opportunities and not force the hand on travel. In regards to your compensation, we want to begin by saying that all of our employees are properly compensated and if they were not, there would be major legal issues for our company, as well as our clients. Our pay structure is discussed and broken down throughout our interview process. However, It seems as though our pay model may not have been properly or thoroughly explained to you and for that, we take full responsibility and would like to apologize. With that said, all employees are required to sign documents upon beginning their employment with Acquire. No one is allowed to move forward with employment unless they consent to the pay structure in the documents. These documents contain a layout of our pay model, and while you had to have signed them, given that you were employed by our company for at least one month, perhaps they were not thoroughly reviewed. We take pride in our open-door policy and value our employees enough to encourage them to use it to their benefit at any time. If utilized, our open-door policy will ensure there is no misunderstanding on any side. Our managers would have been happy to discuss and correct any errors regarding your pay if it was, in fact, proven to be incorrect. Again, thank you for your feedback and we wish you the very best. Kind regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.
