Pros

The people are great, everyone is always taking extra time to make sure you feel included from day one and are comfortable staying up to speed with training. You can move up and make a good amount of money if you take the job seriously. If you do your work well enough, you get to train and manage others, which I hadn’t had the chance to do in other jobs. Meetings are educational and honestly fun, you can tell everyone just enjoys being around each other.

Cons

If you are not good at the job, you will not be able to move up in the company. Managers really pay attention to everyone’s performance and will spend more time coaching the people doing the most work, even if they aren’t one of the more senior associates. Bonuses really only go to the people in the office doing the best work.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review of Acquire. We are glad to hear you had such a positive experience during your time here. It is extremely important to us that our employees know that we have an open-door policy so our entire team is here to put in the extra time it takes to train all newer employees who are not yet comfortable with the speed of our business. We also strongly believe in promoting from within so that each employee, including our CEO and COO, has started from an entry-level position. This ensures that all staff members know and thoroughly understand each aspect of our business, therefore, they can manage others while building their own confidence even more as they advance. This practice also helps us determine who will be able to keep up with the pace and who we should place more focus upon. This goes hand-in-hand with our Managers “spending more time coaching the people doing the most work.” As you mentioned, our business model is based on merit rather than seniority so, we do not base our rewards or acknowledgments on the amount of time someone has worked with our company. With that said, our Management Dept. is happy to reach out to those who appear to be falling behind. However, we hope you understand that this can be challenging at times due to our Managers overseeing between 50-60 employees, which is why we strongly encourage our entire staff to utilize our open-door policy to address any concerns they may have. Again, we greatly appreciate your feedback and helpful advice. We wish you the very best in your career path. Kind Regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.

Pros

Working there was really cool to a certain extent. You get to meet awesome people that are all within the same age group. The positive environment can sometimes come off superficial but it’s all a mindset thing and once you accept it then you’re good to go! I wanted to push myself during my time there because I wanted to step outside of my comfort zone and gain experience from the company and to a point I did become more comfortable talking to people. Another good thing is that all of the management team wants you to be where they are and because of that they put a heavy emphasis on you getting there.

Cons

Because they put such a heavy emphasis on getting to management, it can be a hidden pressure that builds especially if you’re not making any sales. People come and go every week and it can be nerve wrecking wondering if you’re going to lose your job next. I was let go because of poor communication on my end and theirs. My “corporate trainer” didn’t inform me about how my performance wasn’t up to par. I ended up losing my job because they told me I didn’t have to come to the morning meeting on my day off which ended up being my “last strike”. Now I’m left without a job because they didn’t communicate with me or give me any verbal warning. This job is all about sales with a little bit of an emphasis on your relationship with the office. They try to emphasize and manipulate you into thinking it’s not about sales during their morning meetings but if you’re not making any sales then you’re gone.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review. First and foremost, we would like to say how happy we are to hear you enjoyed the positive environment and team of people here at Acquire. We are also glad that you seem to have taken away several positive aspects from your time working with our company. However, we sincerely apologize for the poor communication on our end. While our business structure is a simple one, there is still a considerable amount of moving parts, as in any business, which can leave room for loopholes. In your case, that loophole was the right information getting to the right people. Sometimes there are too many hands on deck, which can leave room for miscommunication or unfortunately, none at all. Your feedback has been discussed with our Directors, who are working with our training team on implementing a system that will streamline our means of communication to minimize and hopefully eliminate instances such as yours from occurring in the future. Though unfortunate, your situation is a great training and learning opportunity for us all to be thorough communicators. Thanks to your feedback and the way in which these concerns have been addressed with our team members, we feel as though we are making moves in the right direction. Although you are no longer with us, we hope you’re able to take some of the positive skills you learned at Acquire throughout your future career. Again, thank you for your review and we wish you the very best. Kind Regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.

Pros

PMA (positive mental attitude) environment Potential good money with good business opportunity Gets you out of your comfort zone if you’re open to growth Either a good stepping stone or a lifetime career

Cons

Expectations are set way too high at start. You’re shown the different “levels” in the business structure that are obtainable but the first few titles you can get are just that...TITLES. No actual increase in pay like they show. Just a title and more headaches. A title is worthless without accommodating pay in my opinion. It all sounds and looks fancy but it really isn’t. Get excited. You’re expected to be okay with a schedule that can change literally the absolute last minute. It can be one thing at night and a completely different thing the following morning with nothing run by you and with no consideration to the fact that maybe you already made plans according to the original schedule. You’re not considered at all really. And if you complain then you’ll probably receive passive aggressive remarks indirectly during a meeting or two about how “leaders don’t care about schedules” or something to make you feel guilty for wanting a life as well. The environment is positive which is great, but the excitement and over positivity is almost naive. I’m supposed to be excited about being around these people practically 24/7 OR be guilted for not showing up to stuff or hanging around the office. I would rather have the latter. If you’re not a “favorite” you’ll get tossed aside. They have actually said In a meeting that they play favorites.

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review. We are pleased to see that you had somewhat of a positive experience during your time working with us and we’re so glad you saw the business opportunities we offer here at Acquire. We agree that we set high expectations and hold our employees to a high standard. We also hold ourselves to a high standard, just as our clients hold our company to a high standard. Some would find it discouraging to know their employer consistently had low expectations for them. We do not know of a successful company that would be pleased with a consistently mediocre work performance. If, in fact, an employee chooses to take an alternate career path due to our expectations, we understand that perhaps what we expected of them differed from what the individual expected of themself. We retain a high number of employees who exceed our expectations daily and as they begin seeing professional growth within themselves, they gain the confidence to push even further. If this were not the case, our company would not grow and expand as quickly as it does. As you know, we are a merit based company, so we focus the majority of our time and efforts on the top. Therefore, when it comes to playing favorites, we show favoritism by recognizing and investing in those who consistently hit performance goals and show their eagerness to excel. We cut out politics by not basing our judgement on your level of seniority at Acquire, family name or the university you attended. All of our employees start on an equal playing field by receiving equal amounts of training as well as access to the same learning tools and resources. Acquire does not believe in an “everyone gets a trophy” philosophy, so at a certain time, if one’s performance continues lacking, our focus must be shifted elsewhere. We regularly speak on this in weekly team meetings in order to be completely transparent. Each promotional job title at Acquire brings new responsibilities and new opportunities. Upon an employee receiving a promotion, we offer benefit options such as healthcare coverage and paid time off (PTO). In addition to healthcare and PTO, we frequently provide bonus opportunities as well as bucket list bonuses where we have our employees make a bucket list of life aspirations and we help them attain something on their list. That may be traveling somewhere in the U.S. or going to your favorite band’s concert. Our benefit options should have been communicated to you during your interview process and we sincerely apologize if we failed to properly communicate this. In regards to our work schedule, we work around our clients’ schedules. If a client has a last minute need that conflicts with the original schedule, we must make changes. We completely understand change can be inconvenient at times and while we have to be accommodating to our clients, we also try our best to accommodate the scheduling needs or preferences of our employees. With that said, please keep in mind, we staff between 50-60 people, which can make it difficult to cater to the requests of every employee. We also give each employee two scheduling options to choose from so they can choose the one that better fits their scheduling needs. Recent changes have been made to our work schedule and we are happy to say we now work a 5 day work week as opposed to the occasional 6. While we greatly appreciate your feedback, much of it is based on personal opinion. For example, if something does not excite or motivate you the way it does someone else, it does not make the other person naive. Your advice to management has been discussed with our Directors, who are very thankful for your feedback. Moving forward, our Directors will emphasize their open-door policy even more than they already do so all Acquire employees know they can discuss any concerns they may have during their time of employment. In terms of a live to work vs work to live mentality, perhaps our company’s philosophy on this was either misrepresented or misinterpreted. We work to live, which is one reason we set such high expectations. Maybe if the expectations are set high early on, there won’t be as much working later. Our vetting process consists of 3 separate interviews to not only ensure each potential new hire is given the proper information pertaining to our company, but also allows the applicant ample opportunities to have all of their questions answered. So with all do respect, you had to have been aware of our work schedule and the dynamics of our company prior to accepting our job offer. Again, thank you for your review and we wish you all the best. Kind Regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.
