Pros

Almost none at all. The underpaid check is at least on time. The vacations are fair for service in time at least. They almost pay more than low end paid truckers earn.

Cons

Horrible pay for your experience and performance, no raises even worth mentioning, horrible way to evaluate work performance. Terrible benefits because you really end up paying for them, their contribution is almost nothing compared to what you have to pay in for them. On call all the time. Weird shift hours. No sleep

Contractors tread lightly

Pros

Flexible hours. While I was contracted to Acuative we did not have a set lunch or break schedule. As long as we were making goal management was happy. If you needed time off as long as you coordinated early enough there was no problem.

Cons

Project management take small mistakes personally. If you are a contractor you are treated and spoken to horribly. Management will adjust your timesheet to avoid overtime. And if a full time employee makes an error it is easily pawned off on contractors.

Pros

The best part of being a Field Engineer at ACUATIVE is the freedom you have working from home. You are provided with a company vehicle, gas card, company card, salary + OT, benefits, 401k, PTO, tools, and training. The pay is very competitive.

Cons

You are responsible for a huge territory. There is no set schedule. You are on call 24/7 365. Lots of travel at a moments notice. When it's busy you are extremely busy. Don't make evening reservations at your favorite restaurant or special event...chances are you'll be cancelling your plans.
