Really debated writing this review as I'm not one to dwell on negatives, but I was in between offers and ultimately went with the Ad Council, which in hindsight, I regret, and don't want others to fall into the same trap. Unfortunately, the shiny AC exterior does not reflect what is on the inside. Once working here, you quickly realize the culture is not one of progressiveness and empowerment as you might have hoped, but rather overwhelmed by cliques, passive aggressiveness, and outright selfishness. Be prepared to be thrown under the bus by your superior, while constantly reminded that they are the superior, as this organization is incredibly tied to bureaucracy. While the hours are better than a traditional media agency, there are virtually no growth opportunities at the Ad Council. And media agencies tend to take care of their own, rather than discouraging and dismissing any outside the box thinking. I went from literally being recognized a "Rising Star" at my previous agency, to taking a job at the Ad Council and years later leaving without much but a bad experience that seemed to get worse as time went on.
