Pros

Incredibly easy, which is a pro if you don’t care about finding fulfillment with your work.

Cons

So many to name without sounding like I’m ranting. Started with barely any training and had to basically teach myself the job. Pay is bad. Corporate is awful and local management is not very supportive and is pretty hands-off. Pay and hours were cut using the pandemic as an excuse, so the little employees have to pay the price because upper management and corporate didn’t know how to prepare. Yeah, stay away from here. The only people this job would be good for is young adults just entering the workforce. No respecting adult should have to do this nonsense for such low pay.

Pros

There aren’t many. They do have benefits, however.

Cons

Very low salary for what they expect and the level of experience and training they expect. Benefits aren’t fantastic, and of course part time people don’t get them. They don’t upgrade equipment and the smaller newspapers under them are constantly being threatened that they are going to be closed so everyone always feels like their job has no security. It makes it very stressful.

Work overload

Pros

The flexible schedule is nice.

Cons

Most, if not all, employees are overworked. Upper management does not take feedback and do anything with it. They are constantly throwing new ideas at you before you’ve had a chance to wrap your head around the last idea. Only concerned about the bottom line, very little care for the well being of employees. Internal customer service is very poor.
