Pros

I recently returned to the company after a five-year absence. The people I worked with then were always fair and reasonable to work with, and it was a positive environment to work in. A couple of other Adams newspapers had reached out to me following the end of the COVID pandemic, and while I did not return to the company then, I had no qualms about doing so when an offer that better fit the needs of my family came.

Cons

I honestly have not been back long enough to make a fair evaluation. I have not yet seen anything that is a serious issue in my judgment.

Pros

The local ability to make decisions and generate ideas. I value the peer group I work with.Ability to make a difference. I feel that I can make a difference with in the organization and in the community I am in.

Cons

More focus on processes, systems and flow. Current environment is reactive even though in many cases the obstacles are known, but kicked down the road. Charting and preaching our digital vision. And it can't be a list of mandates. Drive the culture away from focusing on the daily/weekly miracle of getting the paper out and establish new KPIs and digital standards than are meaningful in the field not on a spreadsheet or management meeting.
