Pros

*My clients are amazing... This was the job that I have gone to school for and have wanted to do while going on to further my nursing career. Unfortunately, it seems that I have picked the wrong company to work for and it seems that I am not alone.

Cons

* Complete and utter lack of communication between the office, the field and the clients. *If your time card is even 5 minutes late, they will with hole your paycheck until the next payday. *Unable to work with you should unexpected health issues arise... *Barely above minimum wage pay for a job that is not only physically but emotionally taxing.

Pros

Homecare aides are unsung heroes who deserve to be treated much better for their work day in and day out. Being at Addus is not a career, it is a job.

Cons

Long hours, no clear and defined responsibilities or goals, no support from management. Excellence is not rewarded and mediocrity is not corrected, which destroys morale within the rank and file. There is no such thing as middle management which creates a chasm between C-levels and operations. Company relies on theory over daily operations and the results are predictable. Company acquires other agencies and does not hire or train appropriate support center staff to handle increase in traffic, instead they eliminate positions to save on operational cost and once again, the results are predictable. Decision makers strategy is flawed and unsound, execution is even more unacceptable. Zero ability to move up in the company, zero ability to change company culture even when ideas are brought to the table. Company has grown leaps and bounds over the years but still operates like a 'Mom & Pop.'

Pros

The people you help assist to stay within their homes is the best thing about this field of work and if it does not work out with a client you can be given to another individual.

Cons

There are too many promises and no follow through. The office passes the responsibility of answering questions to the next individual when it comes to schedule or pay checks being incorrect. There are No benefits not even paid Vacation nor pay raises for some that have been here for five years. When the device doesn't work correctly or is not keyed in correctly you wont get paid until management chooses to pay you and that could be weeks later.
