Pros

The biggest pro of working here was the relationships formed with coworkers. At the beginning of employment, this company felt like a second family. We had fun with sporting teams, seasonal company parties and employee recognition. There is also room for growth within the company. When you work hard, you are compensated with opportunities to move up and take on new job roles. You are rewarded for meeting goals and working hard.

Cons

-Very little PTO. Your sick and vacation time is a total of 2 weeks for the entire year. -The pay is not standard and people in similar roles were compensated very differently while being told from management that you can’t share with your coworkers what your wage is. -Upper management and admin could feel cliquey at times and it could cause some employees to feel uncomfortable sharing private information in fear it would be shared with other employees. -Admin was pushed to make decisions on the therapists schedules that would cause discomfort for therapists and the patients (reducing paperwork time, adding multiple evaluations a day to one therapists work load, pressuring parents to reschedule at times that felt inappropriate) -Upper management would ask for feedback on policy and benefits but nothing ever changed.

I am a little confused with this review as the PRO”s reference company and compensation growth while these are also mentioned as CONS. Seems very inconsistent. Anyone who works hard and does a good at ATG will receive opportunities for career growth as well as increased compensation. In addition, as a provider of skilled therapy services (physical, occupational, and speech therapy), we must follow medical insurance guidelines related to scheduling and paperwork. The reviewer failed to put this into context and address the role which our payers play in the therapy process. I would encourage anyone to review our on line reviews to read about the incredible experiences of our patients I will say that every decision, policy, and process we have at Adler Therapy Group is a directly result from feedback we receive from our team. To say that no one listens could not be further from the truth If you would like to work with an amazing team doing amazing things every day, feel free to contact me directly on my cell phone (757-472-2513). I am happy to set up a meeting and introduce you to our team. Josh Adler Owner/Chief Clinical Officer Adler Therapy Group

Pros

I've worked at a handful of outpatient pediatric clinics; here are the pro's that are specific to ATG: >Dedicated paperwork blocks; you get 2 dedicated paperwork blocks everyday, and 3 blocks on your longest day (10 hour day, 8am - 6pm). >You do not have to treat another therapist's patients - you only treat your patients. >They do not reschedule or fill same day cancellations or no-shows. >Fantastic support team of fellow therapists - every therapist is up to date with current evidence based practices, lead a neurodiversity philosophy w/ treatment, and are all equally dedicated to their patients. You will be hard pressed to find this many quality therapists under one roof. >Abundant supply of resources and materials - wide range of assessments are available, each clinic comes w/ high end printers that can copy, scan and print materials, you are provided resources such as the Informed SLP, stuttering courses, and LessonPix. You are also given an iPad that comes w/ different AAC apps to trial with patients. >Provided snacks and well equipped kitchen. >Rehab aides - fantastic rehab aides that are available to help transition patients, speak w/ parents, and make materials. >Great team morale; higher ups take the time to celebrate accomplishments through shout outs, celebrate milestones such as work anniversaries and birthdays. >Access to sensory gym; each clinic room comes w/ swing attachments >Very involved w/ community - ATG holds several events and workshops to connect w/ Hampton Roads community and their patients >High standards and excellent care; if I were a patient in need of services, I would easily go to ATG out of all competitors in the area. >Personable, friendly leaders and owners who are open to feedback from staff

Cons

>High paced work environment centered around productivity; recently has begun to place high importance on "rescheduling" patients throughout the week, as other outpatient clinics do >Several evaluations in one week - guaranteed evaluation once a week. This is a con specific to ATG; other outpatient clinics in the area do not have an aggressive influx of evaluations placed on clinicians. No consideration is taken with evaluation schedules either; they are willing to schedule 3 evaluations on a Friday if it's possible. >No dedicated IT personnel (with training in IT or background in IT), which is troublesome when technical difficulties arise >No sick days provided >Very little PTO: 10 days >No 401k until a year of employment >No flexibility w/ scheduling - all workers must work the following schedule: 8am - 5pm 2x, 8am - 6pm 2x, 8am - 12pm x1. >Salary transparency is "advised against" - encouraged to not share salaries in workplace >No annual raise. >Limited diversity w/ clinician staff (although this may be indicative of larger problem within the rehab field). No Spanish translator w/ medical background available, but ATG continues to accept and treat Spanish-only speaking patients despite this. (one bilingual SLP is available, but she does not evaluate or treat all Spanish speaking patients). Overall: Adler Therapy Group is an outpatient clinic, which all come with high productivity standards. They've made steps toward lessening insane workload on clinicians, such as dedicated paperwork blocks, but this perk is quickly negated w/ number of evaluations per week, as well as high standards for documentation for recertification reports, progress reports and discharge reports. However, this is a great place to hone one's skills and grow as a clinician, due to the abundance of resources and mentors available. Adler Therapy Group trains excellent clinicians and fosters meaningful relationships with their clientele. Hopefully this review has been helpful for those of you searching for an outpatient experience that works best for you.

Obviously, a lot of effort and thought went into this review. I will address several of the CONS that are either inaccurate or lack context: • Scheduling is important as all of our therapists are paid on a guaranteed salary. However, out of a 40 hour work week, actually patient treatment/facing time is around 25 hours a week even with rescheduling. Thus, therapists have non patient facing time of around 10-15 hours a week in clinic for paperwork. • To suggest that other clinic’s in our area don’t conduct a lot of weekly evaluation is inaccurate. Earlier in my career I worked at a local competitor and can confirm they do a lot more weekly evals than therapist at ATG. • No sick days provided…not true. The same goas for the inference that the sharing of salaries is “advised against.” Not true. • We have an onsite translator available 40 hours a week….I would also suggest the reviewer read up on ASHA’s policies regarding non English speaking patients as their policies clearly state that all patients have a right to services, even if they don’t speak English. We have several bilingual SLP’s on staff who assist with Spanish speaking patients.
