Pros

The hours can be extremely flexible. It's a great "second" job to have. There are wellness benefits offered that other companies do not extend to their employees. I must say that if you do need time away for emergency or illness the company is usually accommodating. Paid holidays are also very much appreciated.

Cons

There is little hope of "moving up the ladder." Associates work for years w/out pay increases to even attempt to compensate for cost of living increases. Constant fear of being laid off.

Pros

Good entry level position to learn more about business and industry. You will learn the business and of store operations. You will meet people of all types in stores. Your will improve your communication skills as a result.

Cons

Communication moves up and down but not well side to side. During my time there I barely knew other people on the team. Manager reviews were too far apart. This should have been a yearly process. That being said, there was some turnover in the supervisor position during my tenure. During my final year there were no in-field work withs [Training & Development]. This was done about every six to eight weeks when I started. Supervisor span of control may have been to broad. Pay was low considering the high cost of living in the Washington, DC metro area.
