As an applications engineer, one gets exposed to a lot in a very short period of time. Different technologies, countries (due to travel), interesting/intelligent people, cultures in a very positive atmosphere/working environment.

Cons

There is no such thing as a perfect job. Individual offices experience gossip, which sometimes get in the way of some groups working together.
