Pros

Stable company with good benefits Opportunities for international travel Lots of good, dedicated people Management seems, overall, to care about the employees Great technical challenges in many areas Some top managers really believe that change is necessary for success

Cons

Too much business culture clash between US and Japan Too many decision makers, sitting in offices all over the world, decision process is slow and ineffective. As per Japanese style, decisions are made in an off-line conversation, then forced on organization even when clear evidence of issues with the decision is presented. Much of the "old guard" is stuck in the old way of doing things over in Japan. This ends up significantly impacting the US division.

Pros

Slow paced, cushy job. Good work/life balance. Hard to get fired from this place unless if you really mess up.

Cons

A lot of good engineers have left Verigy after the Advantest acquisition, mostly what's left are either C and D players or folks who want a retirement job.
