Pros

No pros to mention at Aerotek

Cons

I came into this job with a positive and energetic attitude only to be destroyed by the awful management. I was thrown into the assignments without proper training. My boss was always stressed and would not answer my questions nor did she take the time to help me. The staff was extremely unwelcoming. I was supposed to be trained by someone in my position, yet the coworker could not make eye contact with me, mumbled every statement, and was totally disengaged. However, I spent every day trying to accomplish every task, with little direction, yet when i would complete about 95% of the tasks, my boss would berate me for missing the 5% she never mentioned. After several months of sarcastic comments, eye rolling condescension, and overall hostile environment, I finally defended myself with a mild sarcastic reply that only made her worse. I My boss promptly called me in for a negative performance interview with the director. In the meeting, I was stunned. She faked a positive and encouraging attitude that I never saw before, but told the boss that she had tried helping me so much yet I still was not getting it and told the boss that I reacted improperly the prior day. After hearing this blatant lie, I realized I was meant for way better things (like an encouraging workplace, one that actually trains their employees and wants to see them grow) and my self-esteem was too good for this place. My boss was so phony and over the top with this meeting, but I should thank her for making me finally realize this workplace was awful. As a new graduate with my first job, I really wanted to make it work and stuck around for way too long.

Pros

No clocking in or out Free lunch if leftovers from training Pay is ok Promote from within, but only if you are a "favorite" they don't care about any previous experience.

Cons

The Tempe location is completely ran by recent college grads, who have no other professional experience. That is fine if you are in the same boat, but if you have experience in corporate America, it can be difficult to work for them. They have no clue how the real world works..as they have only worked at Aerotek and are full of the "Kool Aid" LOTS of overtime expected, and you will get talked to if you do not stay late on a weekly basis. Lots of bar hopping as "team building", so if you have a family or don't like to go out, this is not the place for you. Clients do not like the billing practices, and the expectations require you to nag them multiple times every week.

Pros

Best training in the industry! The proof? After 3-6 months, all recruiting agencies will offer you jobs monthly. It can be a really fun atmosphere. We regularly threw stress balls at each other in "The Pit". Happy hours too if you like that. Decent job in that you get a salary and benefits are good. The fact that you can voice your opinion to your manager is healthy.

Cons

Money can by tolerance towards just about anything at a job. A top earner will make roughly 40-46k/year if they are lucky. How did i get this? Here are the facts: 33k base but it's a draw so you pay it through commissions Commissions is off spread. Spread is % off company mark up Example: You hire an engineer at the average salary of 70k/year Aerotek charges 50% on top of that so they make 35k over a 3 month contract Your weekly spread on that engineer is $1,500!!! But you actually get 3% of the $1,500 So you get an additional $45 bucks a week added to your salary. But you have to pay the salary back so you to have $3,000 in spread to cover your base salary So you only get that $45 bucks if that $1,500 is in addition to your $3,000 spread. A VERY GOOD RECRUITER IS 10k in spread a week A 10k recruiter (which i was) must subtract 3k (to cover your salary) and then take 3% of 7k Thats roughly $210 bucks added to your $750 salary pay check Thats $960/week BUT WAIT, theres more!: You work 55 hours a week (off the record) So as a top earner take $960/week and divide by 55 hours Thats $17/hour There's the TRUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WAIT!!! There's more!!!!! I gave you engineer recruiter numbers. If you go Professional or Commercial services, you get way less and thus you need much higher volume in which case you will need 40-60 contractors on your books every week.
