Pros

Opportunities for advancement in proportion to your willingness to work for it Good training program Great wellness programs Aetna Values are actually put into practice, not just given lip service

Cons

Change happens quickly and the front line isn't always made aware Work/Life balance gets a lot of talk time, but there isn't a lot of follow-through

People are indispensable

Pros

Large company, so lots of room for growth.

Cons

Aetna lays off thousands of people every year, right before the holidays. To them, their workers are indispensable.

Pros

Ability to work from home, generous PTO bank, management listens, conservative company that really cares about getting it right the first time. Nice co-workers. Senior management and mid-management teams have strong skills.

Cons

In the sales team, there isn't a good work/life balance. Company downsizing in late 2009 and early 2010 has left many departments under-staffed and over-worked. Health Care Reform legislation has added to the workload of most departments.
