I’m sorry you had this experience. I know it’s really difficult to face performance challenges. As a clarification, with sales roles in particular, sales managers rely on quota achievement as the primary measure of success and a key indicator of performance. Because of this metric, it’s not always the right approach to put someone through a performance improvement plan, especially when the metrics are reviewed regularly. I’m really sorry it didn’t work out with us. I hope you find a rewarding role where you can thrive.

Pros

Over the 1 year that I have been at Affinity, here is what I've seen - Strong growth of our customer base - Team size doubling (added 5 experienced VPs to the Leadership team) - Great culture centered around Learning and Ownership - A needed shift towards to better processes and discipline Given the above, Affinity has provided me the opportunities and support to grow professionally and personally. Every day I know that I'm coming to an environment where my coworkers are smart, hardworking, and invested in the success of each other and the company. If your goal is to optimize for learning and working with a strong, Affinity is the place to be.

Cons

The CRM space is heating up/getting crowded so Affinity needs to make sure we stand out in our current and future markets. Affinity is a start-up so there's plenty of opportunities to wear multiple hats and take on additional responsibilities but the work-life balance may suffer. Teams need to work on being more consistent and process-oriented.

Pros

The company has dominated the VC market and has a high win rate in this area.

Cons

- Limited to selling into a niche industry with a single product that drives value but at the end of the day it's a crm and doesn't grab the attention or $ of a more mature enterprise sale - Zero SE support. AE's run the demos and while the product isn't hard to demo it's odd that there are SE's that push back on doing demos. At the time, this seemed to be a bigger skill gap in having client facing pre-sales roles - Quota never made sense in the path to an OTE. They did some very odd things to create barriers on what qualified as quota attainment and comisssionable from install expansion deals. -This just isn't an entperise/strategic role

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I appreciate the contributions you made during your time at Affinity and the thoughtfulness behind your feedback. Since your departure, we’ve made several important updates across the GTM organization. Regarding the SEs, we’ve added both capacity and leadership to better support AEs and the broader sales motion. This has improved how we partner on demos, technical validation, and solution alignment — enabling AEs to stay focused on strategic selling. We’ve also updated our comp plans to ensure clear alignment between how AEs contribute and how they’re rewarded. As for the Strategic AE role, our roadmap and focus on the Strategic segment has rapidly progressed since you left Affinity. It’s been validated through direct conversations with many of our largest customers — including 1:1 discussions with ~30 accounts and presentations to another 50 . Feedback has been consistently strong, and the internal NPS for roadmap alignment (scored by the entire company) came in at 44. There’s still work to do, but it’s a clear signal of confidence in our direction and how we’re addressing customer needs. Thanks again for your feedback — wishing you continued success in your future. - Jeff Poczatek, SVP Global Sales
