I’m sorry you had this experience. I know it’s really difficult to face performance challenges. As a clarification, with sales roles in particular, sales managers rely on quota achievement as the primary measure of success and a key indicator of performance. Because of this metric, it’s not always the right approach to put someone through a performance improvement plan, especially when the metrics are reviewed regularly.
