Pros

Everyday is different so get to learn a lot, no limit to what I can do pro = a lot of flexibility, people are supportive, no blame culture even though I am junior and made a few mistakes, they encourage me to ask questions if unclear, I also always ask them for deadline as everything is urgent, the culture is open and they accept changes as long as I deliver the message nicely and dont sound like i am just complaining, people are friendly and dont get annoyed when i ask them questions, a lot of trust as can work from home sometimes and flexible working hours, my manager is very supportive mentors me and helps me filter requests

Cons

Everyday is different so get to learn a lot, no limit to what I can do con = very very fast paced, need a lot of energy to keep up, often i am very tired when I get home even if no OT, the do-list growing everyday and never ends so really really need to learn time managment prioritisation so I do not stress out, need to proactively give them updates otherwise they keep asking me ‘how is it going’ and I find it very annoying, the senior people always thinking of improvements so there is so much to do! I tried to not look at my phone after work otherwise the emails and telegram messages are nonstop! Learning is too slow cos i am too busy to know what other people do!

Pros

Learns the best from the U.S. startup environment, open-plan office, the co-office space kinda looks like the Facebook office! Co-founders are friendly, works just as hard as us which I find motivating, they welcome us to help interview new joiners too so we can actively help to grow our teams and start to build bond with candidates from the very first introduction. We are all given brand new 15” macbook pros with touch bar to use!

Cons

I read some of the negative reviews on here. AfterShip is a growing tech startup not a cruise ship!!! So it does sail very fast - need to keep up and even new joiners have KPIs to meet - so everybody is very busy and there will be times when you feel tired and stressed. I personally find people are friendly - they are open to collaborate and knowledge share, the office is nice - so much space, equipment wise - we all get brand new macbooks and can choose our own tools, work wise - we are given so much freedom and flexibility. So in a general sense - can’t complain as the company is still growing and improving and the China office is new.

Pros

1. really pushed for scrum & teams can say what working style work best, talking more positive like how to improve, can be done better, can debate to find best way 2. scrum master helps us voice out cos we have diff values and they try to get cofounders to accommodate diff opinions from everyone 3. quite open & relaxed working environmnt, flat structure, can suggest new fav tech, don't ask where are you, can work from cafe, home or where ever, developers get time to work on more robust apps

Cons

1. improving but sometimes still need time to fully adopt new tech cos of legacy 2. hard to find time to do sharing to speed up adopting new tech I want cos we have sprint goals to met & trying to teach new developers
