      * appreciates employees * amazingly flexible work schedules * great benefits * opportunities to move around * casual dress code * fabulous lay-off package

      Cons

      Is the ship going down? When I started in 2000 there were 48,000 employees. Today it's somewhere in the ball park of 15,000, with a much higher percentage in Asia. Much of the US & European offices are reduced. There are always bum managers in every corporation and they do have a few here and there. If you look for it you can find some politics but the majority of people are just there to do their job and do it well.

      Pros

      Agilent gives one a lot of opportunity and autonomy. If you work hard, you can do well. Employees are top notch, and focused on excellence.

      Cons

      Agilent is in a commoditizing market with a number of nimble competitors, so it is being forced to be extremely lean.

      Pros

      Great history of being a people-focused company that does great engineering. Good working environment, flexible and enough tools and knowledge to get the job done

      Cons

      It's a big company so has its share of processes not all of which seem to add value, too many managers running spreadsheets rather than doing the job, a lot of change in recent years to adapt to the market realities but still a good place to be.
