Within Agilent all the focus is on the Life Sciences side of the business. Although T&M is a very interesting high tech industry, it is a mature business. Agilent is the dominant player in T&M but the business is moribund. Since the massive layoffs of 2009 there is a survival mentality. Don't expect much recognition or promotion.
