There is no sense of work-life balance—employees are expected to work a minimum of 50 hours per week. The systems in place are extremely outdated, requiring everything to be done manually, which often forces team members to take on IT responsibilities in addition to their actual roles.
Beyond the workload, the company culture is deeply toxic. The controller plays favorites and consistently hires individuals she has previously worked with, rather than selecting the most qualified candidates. She fosters an environment where employees feel intimidated to ask for help, frequently calls people out in large group messages, and minimizes employee contributions by making comments like, “You’ll get the paycheck you earn,” in response to questions about recognition. She refuses to acknowledge when she’s wrong, setting a precedent that this kind of behavior is acceptable. Unfortunately, another manager has followed her lead, further perpetuating the toxic environment.
