Pros

Remote work, average salary and the people.

Cons

Air Apps is a unique workplace, where there seems to be a lack of trust in the development team's capabilities. Despite claiming to follow an agile approach, the company's demands are strictly top-down, with the CEO heavily involved in every aspect of our work, even down to the coding level. The daily micromanagement, takes precedence over strategic planning for the future of the apps and the company. Working here can be quite stressful, with tight deadlines imposed by the CEO, who, unfortunately, lacks the technical expertise required for informed decision-making. It's also worth noting that the CEO has a familial connection to the POPs, which can make providing feedback to HR a challenging endeavor. Another notable downside is the constant flux in work processes. In the short time I've been with the company, I've witnessed numerous abrupt changes in processes, teams, and work methodologies. These changes appear hasty and often unproductive, driven by the CEO's desire to 'hack the time,' despite the evident lack of success with such approaches. The CEO's propensity for maintaining chaos in the workplace can be frustrating. It often feels as though he thrives on the disorder, seemingly making himself indispensable for decision-making, rather than allowing the company to operate efficiently without constant micromanagement.

It's clear from your feedback that significant challenges affect your work environment and the overall morale of your team. I want to address some of your points directly: Role of a CTO: Your suggestion to bring in a CTO is well-received. A CTO can provide the technical leadership and vision necessary to guide the development team effectively. Process Stability: The constant flux in work processes and methodologies can be disruptive and counterproductive. I acknowledge the need for stability and consistency in our approaches. We will aim to establish and maintain stable processes, making changes only when necessary and with ample communication and rationale. Your management advice provides a clear roadmap for improving the working environment at Air Apps. Implementing these changes will require a collective effort and an ongoing commitment to improvement. I am dedicated to taking these steps, starting with empowering the team, improving our processes, and ensuring our workplace is one where everyone can thrive. Filipe, CEO @AirApps
